About Amy Jones Jenkins
I'm drawing and painting personal narratives with a cast of familar, symbolic characters to play out my ideas of revenge, judgment, and transformation. Life isn't easy and taking the high road all the time takes it's toll on the soul. How many "shit sandwiches" can one eat in a lifetime? I can accomplish anything in a painting or drawing, so off with your head, and no one is truly hurt.
Southern female storytellers (like Harper Lee, Fanny Flagg, and Flannery O'Connor) and Texas "Tall Tales" are my inspiration. It is my ambition to tell my tales, and have you enjoy the humor, the psychedelic colors, and notice how we have common experiences.
